$100 Oil: Geopolitics Fuel Global Market Volatility
Brent crude oil prices have surged past $100 per barrel for the first time since July 24, reaching $100.19 on Wednesday.
The increase is attributed to heightened military activities in the Middle East, raising concerns over energy-driven inflation across global markets.
Wall Street witnessed declines across its three main stock indices, the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Nasdaq, each experiencing minor losses. European stocks have fallen to a one-week low, notably impacting industrial and banking sectors.
Senior analyst Ipek Ozkardeskaya from Swissquote noted that the market's risk appetite has diminished significantly due to rising oil prices driven by ongoing conflicts.
