$15 Billion Data Centre Proposed for West-Central Alberta
A massive data centre project has been proposed for west-central Alberta, with Emerald Energy Technologies planning to build the Malachite One facility on Crown land.
The $15 billion project would be powered primarily by natural gas and could include up to 7.1 million square feet of data centre space.
The data centre would generate most of its own electricity, consuming approximately 150 million cubic feet of natural gas daily and producing 930 megawatts of electricity.
