$150 Cornrows Price Tag Sparks Backlash for Nigerian-American Football Star

Nigerian-American football star Michelle Alozie made headlines after walking out of a hair salon due to an exorbitant price quote for cornrows. On September 10, Alozie visited a salon and asked for 20 small cornrows, with the stylist quoting her $150.

Alozie, who regularly braids her own hair, was taken aback by the price. 'Just try to charge me $150 for that? No,' she said. 'Now I'm gonna go and finish the top of my hair because I will not do that.'

Instead of paying the hefty sum, Alozie took matters into her own hands and finished braiding her cornrows at home.
