$1.6B Black Bayou Expansion to Fuel Louisiana Energy Hub
A Louisiana-based natural gas storage company called Black Bayou Energy Hub is investing $1.6 billion in expanding its salt dome and related infrastructure near major LNG export facilities.
The project, backed by international energy trading firm Mercuria, will create pipeline connections between Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes to store 34.7 billion cubic feet of gas.
The expansion is expected to create 23 direct new jobs with an average annual salary of $195,000, as well as 35 indirect new jobs.
