$37 Million for Next-Gen Drilling Techs in Alberta

Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) has awarded $37 million to 10 projects focused on next-generation drilling technologies, including robotic automation and AI-driven energy management.

The combined value of these projects is nearly $179 million. ERA invests in pilot, demonstration, first-of-kind commercial, and commercial-scale projects across sectors like oil and gas, geothermal, and critical minerals.

Grant Hunter, Alberta's Minister of Environment and Protected Areas, said: 'Alberta innovators are advancing world-leading drilling technologies that will create jobs, strengthen competitiveness, reduce emissions, and unlock new opportunities in geothermal energy, critical minerals, and carbon capture.'
