U.S. prosecutors have filed a civil forfeiture complaint seeking $61.2 million in USDT allegedly tied to black-market Iranian oil sales.

The complaint targets ten TRON addresses, which held 61.19 million USDT when frozen by Tether earlier this year.

Prosecutors allege that seven linked wallets moved more than $1.5 billion from sanctioned Iranian oil sales and used Binance trading accounts to convert the proceeds into cryptocurrency.

The Justice Department alleges that two Hong Kong companies, Blessed Trust Limited and Hexa Whale Trading Limited, were involved in the network, but does not charge Binance with a criminal offense in this proceeding.
