$65.5 Million DOE Funding Targets Oil and Gas Production Gaps
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced up to $65.5 million in funding for domestic oil and natural gas production and delivery, targeting three operational failure points that cost producers, consumers, and the broader economy billions annually.
The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) aims to address stranded and underutilized resource valorisation, supply chain durability, and infrastructure reliability. The funding will be matched by non-federal contributions, creating a built-in filter for proposals with genuine commercial viability.
The $65.5 million NOFO is structured around three distinct priority areas: converting gas streams into transportable products, reducing product loss through advanced materials, and adopting AI and sensor technologies to optimise field performance.
