$7.5 Billion in Oil Revenues Transferred to Iran's Central Bank Amid US Naval Blockade
Iran has successfully transferred $7.5 billion in oil revenues to its central bank despite a US naval blockade. This amount is sufficient to cover the government's foreign-currency expenditures from July through December and meets budget revenue requirements, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.
The funds were transferred from sales during the first four months of the current Iranian year, which corresponds to March 21-July 22. Oil revenues for this period reached 99% of the amount projected in the state budget for March 21, 2026-March 20, 2027.
The development comes amid a US naval blockade imposed on Iran, which has disrupted Tehran's oil exports and maritime trade. The Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments, remains at the center of the US-Iran conflict.
