ADNOC Crude Tenders Accelerate with Spot Sales Surpassing 74M Barrels

ADNOC's crude oil tenders have seen a significant acceleration since June, with seven rounds issued in under two months. This is a notable shift from the traditional long-term contract model, which has been favored by state-backed producers for decades.

The term contract framework allocates fixed volumes to established buyers at predetermined differentials linked to benchmark prices. However, spot tenders disrupt this model by inviting competitive bids across various buyers for specific cargoes and loading windows.

ADNOC's recent tender series has seen cumulative spot sales surpass 74 million barrels, distributed across multiple crude grades, loading ports, and delivery windows from August through October 2026. This is roughly equivalent to three-quarters of a day's worth of global oil consumption.
