Adnoc Defies Hormuz Disruptions with Continued LNG Shipments
Despite ongoing disruptions to energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz and escalating hostilities in the waterway, Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (Adnoc) continues to load liquefied natural gas onto tankers in the Persian Gulf.
Satellite images show a vessel docked at Adnoc's Das Island export facility on September 2, with at least one other tanker spotted nearby, according to Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite imagery.
However, ship-tracking data indicates that these tankers have switched off their transponders to avoid detection, suggesting that Adnoc has found ways to move energy supplies through the strait despite the persistent threat of attack.
Adnoc has proven adept at transporting LNG out of the gulf, with satellite images showing multiple ships docked at the facility over the past few months.
