Adnoc Defies Regional Tensions to Keep Gas Exports Flowing

Despite ongoing tensions in the region, Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (Adnoc) is pushing ahead with liquefied natural gas exports from its Persian Gulf plant.

The move comes as renewed hostilities force producers to curb visible traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for global oil trade.

An empty LNG carrier owned by Adnoc's shipping arm appeared in the Bloomberg Terminal after traversing the strait with its location broadcasters turned off, according to ship data compiled by Bloomberg.

This marks a rare crossing, with visible traffic through the strait essentially halted since a Qatari LNG ship was attacked earlier this month.
