ADNOC Gas is planning to build a new liquified natural gas export facility outside the Strait of Hormuz. The move aims to bypass any potential disruptions in the busy shipping lane, which has seen increased tensions between Iran and other countries.

The Abu Dhabi national oil company will invest $8.2 billion to boost gas production and meet growing demand from both domestically and Asia.

ADNOC Gas will also construct new gas-processing facilities to handle the increased volumes. The decision comes as global demand for liquefied natural gas continues to rise, driven by increasing energy needs in countries such as China and India.
