ADNOC LS Bolsters Fleet with $444M LNG Carrier Deal
ADNOC LS has added two LNG carriers to its orderbook in a US$444M deal, bringing its total spending on vessel acquisitions and newbuilding commitments this year to approximately US$2.7Bn.
The company exercised options for the next-generation 175,000-m³ vessels at Jiangnan Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
These two new vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2029 and will be deployed on long-term charters upon delivery.
This latest investment is part of ADNOC LS's aggressive fleet expansion strategy, which also includes targeting secondhand VLCCs alongside gas carriers.
The company's chief executive, Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, said the move is aimed at supporting ADNOC's growing exports and capturing opportunities in international energy trade.
