Agnico Eagle Mines Surges on Record Free Cash Flow and Buybacks
Agnico Eagle Mines Limited recently reported its second-quarter 2026 results, showing net income of US$1.60 billion and basic earnings per share from continuing operations rising to US$3.19.
The company's quarterly gold production was slightly lower at 855,816 ounces compared to the same period last year, but it generated a record free cash flow and completed a US$377.48 million share buyback.
Agnico Eagle's investment narrative is centered around its mix of large, long-life gold assets and a deep project pipeline, which can convert a volatile gold price into strong free cash flow, even when production wobbles.
