Agricultural Commodity Futures Plummet as Livestock Prices Rise
The Chicago Board of Trade saw significant fluctuations in agricultural commodity futures on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Corn Futures for September and December both declined by 7 cents to $4.42 and $4.65 per bushel, respectively.
Soybean Futures also experienced a downturn, with September and November contracts decreasing by 15 cents to $11.58 and $11.77 per bushel, respectively.
Wheat Futures saw losses as well, with September and December contracts down 13 cents and 12 cents to $6.38 and $6.57 per bushel, respectively.
In contrast, Live Cattle Futures for October and December increased by 112 cents and 107 cents to $227.85 and $227.30 per hundredweight, dressed weight.
Feeder Cattle Futures also rose, with September and October contracts up 340 cents and 330 cents to $345.95 and $337.00 per hundredweight, respectively.
