The global agricultural market is entering its 2026/27 season amidst shifting trade flows and intensifying competition for key buyers.
According to the Ukrainian Pulses and Soybean Association (UPSA), the market will be influenced by geopolitics and logistics, which will reshape markets in the new season and create opportunities for producers, traders, and processors.
The grain market is one of the main uncertainties of the season, with global production expected to reach a high level but supply volumes no longer guaranteeing trade stability due to risks in the Black Sea, questions about grain origin, routes, logistics costs, and suppliers' ability to guarantee contract performance.
Competitors are also emerging in the durum wheat and processed products segment, while the pulses market is experiencing shortages in some countries and increased dependence on imports in others, with India, China, Pakistan, and Turkey remaining key markets for international suppliers.
