Reps. Lori Trahan and Jay Obernolte authored a bipartisan bill, while Reps. Ted Lieu and Nathaniel Moran also introduced a similar measure. Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Greg Casar teamed up on another proposal. However, House GOP leaders have shown no urgency in prioritizing more sweeping regulations.
Oil prices jumped Monday as the price of diesel fuel continues to set new all-time highs. The national average price of diesel rose to $6.23 per gallon on Monday. This surge comes amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, with a meeting between Iran and Gulf countries postponed due to disagreements.
