Akakus Seeks 355k bpd Production Target by Mid-2027
Akakus Oil Operations is aiming to boost its production levels significantly in the coming years. The company, which is involved in oil operations in Libya, has set a target of reaching approximately 355,000 barrels per day (bpd) by mid-2027. This goal was discussed during a recent meeting between Akakus and the National Oil Corporation (NOC), held at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli.
The meeting, which took place yesterday, focused on operational and financial performance results as well as proposed strategic plans for the coming period. Participants commended the company's teams for their rapid response to a fire on the main 30-inch export pipeline last March, which ensured the safety of operations and the continuity of exports.
The Sharara field, operated by Akakus, has been performing exceptionally well, achieving outstanding production levels that peaked at approximately 335,000 bpd in August 2026. The meeting concluded with an agreement on a set of strategic priorities for the coming year, including organizing workshops to discuss development plans and enhancing production sustainability.
