Alabama Driving Schools Shut Down Amid English Proficiency Concerns
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has praised the Trump administration's decision to shut down driving schools that failed to meet English-proficiency and training standards. According to ALEA, there were over 1,000 English-language violations in the state, leading to the detention of 561 people by ICE during truck enforcement operations.
In a separate incident, police credited Flock cameras with helping to identify a suspect's vehicle after a 13-year-old girl was abducted from Tuscaloosa. The girl was found unharmed after a stop on Interstate 59 in Bessemer, and the kidnapper, Carmelita Arguijo, has been charged with second-degree kidnapping.
The U.S. has also taken action against Iran, striking three Iranian oil tankers and vowing to do more if attacks continue. The move comes after ballistic missiles unsuccessfully targeted an aircraft carrier and destroyer that 'successfully evaded multiple unprovoked Iranian attacks.'
