Alaska Oil and Gas Conference Boosts Optimism for Industry Growth

The Alaska Oil and Gas Association (AOGA) Conference kicked off in Anchorage with an optimistic tone, highlighting new projects and job opportunities in the state's oil and gas industry. The conference drew a sold-out crowd, who enjoyed free coffees, tacos, and even WD-40 containers for their chainsaws. Aztec Alaska provided the coveted containers, wrapped with duct tape on the bottom.

Speakers discussed several new projects, including first oil at Coyote, advancement of Narwhal, and development of Prudhoe Bay. Steve Wackowski, president and CEO of AOGA, estimated that once production ramps up in the Willow Project, it could produce more than 100,000 barrels per day.

Wackoski guaranteed that if you're an Alaskan with the right qualifications, you can find a job in Alaska's oil and gas industry. Erec Isaacson, president of ConocoPhillips Alaska and AOGA Board Chair, echoed this sentiment, saying Alaska's oil and gas industry has real momentum, momentum we haven't seen for decades.
