The Alaska Oil and Gas Association (AOGA) conference kicked off in Anchorage with an optimistic tone, as industry leaders discussed new projects and job growth.

Speakers highlighted the progress of several major projects, including the Willow Project, which is expected to produce more than 100,000 barrels per day once production ramps up. The Prudhoe Bay project was also mentioned, along with the development of Point Thomson and the Narwhal field.

Aztec Alaska gave out WD-40 containers wrapped in duct tape as a promotional item, which Steve Wackowski, AOGA's president and CEO, jokingly praised. Wackowski guaranteed that Alaskans can find a job in the oil and gas industry if they are qualified.

Erec Isaacson, president of ConocoPhillips Alaska and AOGA Board Chair, emphasized the importance of competitiveness, workforce development, and storytelling for the industry. He noted that every investment opportunity in Alaska must compete globally, requiring stable policies, efficient permitting, and regulatory certainty.
