Albania and Argent LNG Team Up on Regional Energy Security Terminal
Argent LNG has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Albania to develop an onshore LNG storage and regasification terminal on the Albanian coast.
The proposed terminal will have regasification capacity of up to approximately 5 million tpy and significant LNG storage capacity, making it a strategic regional energy security asset.
Its primary purpose is to provide flexible LNG storage, regasification, and supply capabilities that can strengthen the security of supply across the Western Balkans and Southeastern Europe, particularly during periods of peak demand, supply disruption, or market stress.
The project aims to leverage Albania's strategic Adriatic location and existing gas infrastructure to provide greater flexibility and resilience to neighbouring markets.
