Aldebaran Resources Dips as Focus Shifts to Altar Copper-Gold Project
Aldebaran Resources Inc., trading on the TSXV as ALDE, dropped 2.30% in value following a volatile August that saw significant price swings. The decline is seen as profit-taking and consolidation after the previous session's sharp rebound.
The company recently completed the spin-out of Centauri Minerals, separating its northern Argentina exploration assets from the Altar copper-gold development story. Aldebaran now has a focused investment thesis around its 80%-owned Altar Copper-Gold Project in San Juan, Argentina.
Altar's resource contains approximately 22.01 billion pounds of copper, 5.08 million ounces of gold, and 93.76 million ounces of silver in the Measured and Indicated categories. The project has a Preliminary Economic Assessment indicating a 48-year mine life, US$2 billion after-tax NPV, and 20.5% after-tax IRR.
