Algeria Secures 500k Tons of Wheat at Higher Prices
Algeria has made its latest move to secure wheat supplies, purchasing around 500-510 thousand tons of milling wheat in an international tender that closed on September 15. The prices for this shipment were estimated to be around $319-$321 per ton C&F (cost and freight). This purchase is scheduled to take place over two periods: November 1-15 and November 16-30.
For comparison, Algeria's previous tender in August resulted in the agency buying up to 720 thousand tons of wheat at around $289-$290 per ton C&F. The price increase may be attributed to various factors, including global market fluctuations and changes in supply and demand balances.
