Algo Grande Copper Corp. Expands Skarn System in Sonora, Mexico
Copper demand continues to rise from various industrial sectors, including electronics, data centers, defense applications, and clean energy infrastructure. This growth has drawn attention to early-stage explorers like Algo Grande Copper Corp.
The company is testing its Adelita project in Sonora, Mexico, which covers 5,895 hectares in a region that accounts for approximately 80 percent of Mexico's copper output. The project hosts skarn mineralization containing copper, silver, and gold.
Algo Grande began Phase 2 drilling at the Cerro Grande skarn target to expand known zones and test additional horizons. Previously completed Phase 1 drilling revealed a stacked five-horizon skarn system with multiple mineralized intervals totaling 41.59 meters.
The company aims to confirm two historical skarn horizons, extend three newly discovered horizons, and explore previously untested limestone at the Adelita Project. A second drill rig was mobilized to run Hole 3 concurrently with Hole 2, supporting the interpretation of a laterally and vertically extensive skarn system.
Assay results for Hole 2 are pending, but Algo Grande anticipates releasing them once verified. The company's market capitalization is CA$22.39 million, with institutions holding 8 percent, management and insiders holding 40 percent, and retail investors holding the remaining 52 percent.
