Algo Grande Copper Doubles Zone at Adelita in Phase II
Copper prices remain near record highs due to smelter outages and structural supply shortages. Algo Grande Copper Corp., an explorer in the copper junior space, has released new details from its Phase II campaign at the Adelita Project in Sonora, Mexico.
The results show expansion of known copper mineralization at the Cerro Grande skarn target, reinforcing the project's potential within a district that already produces most of Mexico's copper output. Drilling has more than doubled the visually identified copper-mineralized interval in Hole 2 to 68.77 meters across a 154-meter span.
The global copper market faces persistent supply constraints, with outages at major smelters and slow development timelines for new mines tightening physical availability. Copper demand is driven by electrification, data-center construction, and grid upgrades rather than traditional economic cycles alone.
