Allseas to Install Final Subsea Section of Western LNG's PRGT Pipeline
Western LNG has awarded Allseas the contract to install the final subsea section of its Prince Rupert Gas Transmission (PRGT) pipeline in northwest Canada. The pipeline will transport Canadian natural gas from the remote waters of north-western British Columbia to the planned Ksi Lisims LNG export facility on the Pacific coast.
The 700-kilometre system includes approximately 50 kilometres of 36- and 48-inch concrete-weight coated pipeline, which will be installed by Allseas' pipelay vessels Solitaire and Sandpiper. The vessels will operate in water depths ranging from the shoreline to approximately 450 metres.
The project's remote location and complex nearshore works make it a technically demanding installation campaign. However, Allseas has a track record of delivering complex pipeline projects in challenging marine environments.
