Amazon Drives US Stocks Higher Amid Rising Oil Prices
The S&P 500 index gained 0.91% to trade at 7,505.90 as Amazon led Wall Street higher alongside rising oil prices amid Middle East tensions.
Amazon's shares rose by nearly 15%, driving tech stocks up and semiconductor companies with it. The Nasdaq Index climbed 1.24% while the Dow advanced 0.72%. Apple fell around 9-10% to become one of the worst performers.
The US Treasury yield moved above 4.7%, reaching 4.737%, and the 30-year yield reached 5.27%. Oil prices were also higher, with Brent crude at $88.15 and WTI at $84.66 due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
