Americans Overwhelmingly Reject Iran War as Gas Prices Continue to Rise
A new poll suggests that many Americans do not believe the war with Iran is worth the fight. The AP-NORC survey found that seven in ten U.S citizens consider preventing oil and gas prices from rising an important foreign policy goal.
According to the poll, only 33% of Americans think the war with Iran is worth the fight, while 64% say it has not been worth it. Additionally, 23% of respondents believe that military attacks should stop altogether.
The public appears divided on how to handle the conflict, but most still believe negotiating a permanent ceasefire is an important foreign policy goal. Preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is also seen as crucial by many Americans, although there is a split regarding preventing Iran from threatening Israel.
