Amia's AI Server Demand Surges Revenue by 42% YoY
Amia's (8438) second-quarter 2026 earnings report showed a significant increase in revenue and net profit, driven by the growth of AI server demand. The company's consolidated revenue reached NT$1.32 billion, up 42.21% year-over-year, while its net profit surged 657.84% to NT$79.71 million.
General Manager Chen Yen-Heng attributed this growth to the increasing use of AI servers, which now account for a significant share of total server volume. He also highlighted the 'spillover effect' in the PCB supply chain, where high-end orders benefit multiple levels of manufacturers, resulting in increased demand for Amia's etching solutions.
Despite rising copper prices compressing margins, Amia maintained its gross margin at 14.32% by leveraging circular-economy raw materials to offset cost pressures. The company expects revenue contributions from its Vietnam plant to begin in Q3 and Q4 this year, following trial production runs that have already commenced.
The earnings report also revealed that Amia's core business is actually supplying etching solutions for electronics circuit patterning, not just resource recycling as previously categorized by the market. Chen emphasized, 'We are not a recycling company. We are a specialty chemicals company.'
