Anglo American Profit Soars 35% on Record Copper Prices
Anglo American Plc, a mining giant, reported a significant increase in profit for the first half of the year. The company's profit from ongoing activities grew by 35% to $4 billion, driven largely by record copper prices on global markets.
The strong results were influenced by supply shortages, high demand from the AI sector, and logistical disruptions caused by trade tariffs. As a result, the company was able to more than triple its shareholder payout to 23 pence per share.
