Anglo Teck Leadership Team Revealed: Duncan Wanblad to Helm Copper-Centric Miner
The merger between Anglo American plc and Teck Resources Limited is one of the largest transactions in global mining in over a decade. The combined entity, to be known as Anglo Teck plc, will be positioned as a premier copper-focused diversified miner with operations spanning the Americas, Africa, and beyond.
The Anglo Teck executive leadership team comprises nine C-suite executives drawn from both legacy organisations. Duncan Wanblad, CEO of Anglo American, will lead the combined entity, while Jonathan Price, outgoing President and CEO of Teck Resources, will serve as Deputy CEO and Chief Strategy Officer.
Price's role is key to integrating Teck's corporate DNA into the highest strategic tier of the new company. The regional operating architecture features five geography-specific CEO roles, all reporting directly to COO Ruben Fernandes. This decentralised model mirrors that used by BHP and Rio Tinto, with centralised strategic accountability sitting above a layer of regionally empowered operational leadership.
The appointment of dedicated regional CEOs for Chile (Dale Webb) and Peru (Tony Power) reflects where Anglo Teck's copper growth story will be written. These countries host some of the world's highest-grade copper porphyry systems, and Anglo American already holds significant assets in both nations.
