Animal feed prices have seen a modest increase in July, with most types rising by around 15 cents per 100 kilograms. According to Wageningen Social & Economic Research, pig fattening pellets with 1.08 EW now cost €29.10 per 100 kilograms, up from the previous month's price of €28.99.

The average monthly increase for all animal feeds has slowed down slightly, with some types experiencing more significant rises than others. Lacto and gestation sow feeds have risen by 5 cents per 100 kilograms to €30.70 and €35.65 respectively, while piglet pellets are now 15 cents more expensive at €44.

In the cattle feed market, A-brok has increased by 5 cents to €30.95 per 100 kilograms, but protein-rich pellet prices remain stable at €32.60. However, broiler pellets have seen the largest increase of all animal feeds, rising by 70 cents to €38.60 per 100 kilograms.

Across all feed types, the average price is now around 60 cents higher than in July 2025, with rosé veal feed experiencing the greatest price increase at €1.05 per 100 kilograms. In contrast, slaughtering pig pellets have become 20 cents cheaper compared to a year ago.

The limited rise in feed prices aligns with developments in the commodities market, where wheat prices have fluctuated due to geopolitical tensions and harvest prospects for corn and soybeans are ensuring sufficient global supply.
