Ansar Allah Strikes Saudi Aramco Refinery in Southwestern Saudi Arabia

Yemen's Ansar Allah has claimed responsibility for attacking Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery in southwestern Saudi Arabia. The attack, which occurred on Sunday, targeted the refinery with a drone and caused a fire that was later extinguished.

The refinery, which processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day, had previously been damaged by Houthi militants in July, forcing Aramco to shut it down for repairs. The latest attack has sparked concerns about global energy supplies, as the Jazan refinery is a critical component of Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure.

The incident comes amid escalating tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran-backed groups, including Ansar Allah. The two sides have been engaged in a prolonged conflict, with both sides launching attacks on each other's territories. The latest defense pact signed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan aims to strengthen collective deterrence against any act of aggression.

According to Aramco chief Amin Nasser, recent attacks on the company's facilities have caused some production interruptions but had no material operational or financial impact. However, the escalating tensions have disrupted global energy supplies and rattled the world economy.
