Antero Resources Crushes Q2 Earnings Expectations with Strong Revenue Growth
Natural gas producer Antero Resources (NYSE:AR) reported strong Q2 CY2026 results, surpassing market expectations. The company's revenue reached $1.56 billion, a year-over-year increase of 29.6%. This exceeded analyst estimates by 2.4%.
Antero Resources' EPS (GAAP) came in at $0.90, beating consensus estimates of $0.81 by 10.5%. The company's operating margin rose to 24.1%, while its free cash flow margin stood at 6.3%, down from 18.6% in the same quarter last year.
CEO and President Michael Kennedy commented on the results, stating that the second quarter reflects the first full quarter following the acquisition of HG Energy. He noted that production increased by more than 20% from a year ago, while costs declined by over 10%.
The company's oil production grew by 12.8% year-over-year, and its market capitalization stands at $10.5 billion. While Antero Resources' revenue growth has been sluggish over the last five years, averaging just 6.1% compounded annual growth rate, the company's ten-year annualized revenue growth of 9.2% is above average for the energy upstream and integrated energy sector.
