Antofagasta Posts Strong H1 Earnings Amid Copper Price Surge
Antofagasta H1 EBITDA Rises 27% As Higher Copper Prices Boost Earnings
Iván Arriagada, CEO of Antofagasta plc (LON:ANTO), expressed his satisfaction with the company's half-year results. The firm reported a significant increase in EBITDA by 27%, reaching $2,840.5 million, and a 53% boost in operating cash flow to $2,772.9 million.
The Group attributes this growth to higher realised copper prices and its focus on productivity and cost discipline. Antofagasta's strong safety performance continued, with no fatalities recorded during the period. The lost time injury frequency rate remained below 1.0 (H1 2026: 0.68).
Antofagasta is advancing major projects at Centinela and Los Pelambres towards commissioning in 2027. These investments are expected to deliver a 30% increase in copper production and strengthen the long-term resilience of its portfolio.
