Arab Nations Unite Against Drone Attack on Saudi Oil Pipeline
A wave of condemnation swept across the Arab region following an attack on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline using drones. The pipeline, which spans over 1,200 kilometers from the Eastern Province to the Red Sea ports in Yanbu, is a vital energy artery that transports around 7 million barrels per day.
Several countries, including Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed their strong condemnation of the attack. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting these threats and emphasized support for measures taken to protect security and sovereignty.
The State of Qatar described the targeting of economic and vital facilities as a 'dangerous escalation' that threatens regional safety and global energy supplies. Doha praised the responsible approach taken by the Saudi leadership, particularly in supporting the Iraqi government's efforts to control its borders and prevent aggression against neighboring countries.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the attack represents a flagrant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a direct threat to regional security. Amman affirmed its absolute stand with Riyadh in defending capabilities and called on the international community to assume responsibilities in stopping repeated aggressions affecting essential infrastructure.
