Aramco Profit Soars on War-Driven Oil Price Surge
Saudi Aramco's profit surged by 33% in the second quarter, thanks to increased oil prices driven by the US-Iran conflict. The state-owned energy giant reported an adjusted net income of $33.4 billion for the three-month period, exceeding analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg of $31.1 billion. This significant jump in profits comes as no surprise given the recent tensions between the two nations, which have led to a hike in global oil prices.
The conflict has disrupted shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, a key artery for oil exports, but Aramco was able to maintain its export levels by utilizing an alternative pipeline. This strategic decision allowed the company to reap the benefits of rising oil prices without compromising its supply chain.
