Saudi oil giant Aramco reported a significant increase in profits for the second quarter of this year. The company's net profit rose by 44% compared to the same period last year, driven by higher oil and gas prices resulting from the ongoing Middle East war. Aramco's president and CEO Amin H. Nasser attributed the company's ability to maintain business continuity despite supply disruptions to its 'diverse asset base and multi-decade planning'. The company's net income for the quarter was 122.6 billion Saudi riyals ($32.7 billion), up from 85 billion riyals ($22.67 billion) in 2025.

Adjusted net income, excluding exceptional items, came in at 125.1 billion Saudi riyals ($33.4 billion). This figure is higher than the median analyst consensus of $31.16 billion based on 12 forecasts. The company's profits have been boosted by volatile crude prices throughout the war, which were significantly higher in the second quarter of this year compared to a year earlier.

The continued supply disruption through the Strait of Hormuz and the recent maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea by Iran's Houthi allies in Yemen have contributed to the volatility in oil prices. Despite these challenges, Aramco has demonstrated its ability to maintain business continuity due to its strategic infrastructure such as storage capacity and export terminals.
