Argent LNG, Albania Team Up on Regional LNG Terminal
Argent LNG has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Albania's government to explore the construction of an onshore LNG storage and regasification terminal along the Albanian coastline.
The terminal, which will have a capacity of roughly 5 million metric tons per year, is designed as a regional distribution point for Western Balkans and Southeastern Europe, not for Albania's own consumption. It will be able to accept, hold, and convert LNG back into gas for shipment to adjacent markets.
The terminal will link with the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, the Ionian Adriatic Pipeline, and the Fier-Vlore gas corridor, enabling gas shipments to Ukraine via reverse-flow mechanisms, exchange deals, and regional trading structures.
