Argent LNG has signed an agreement with Ukraine's state-owned Naftogaz Group to explore supplying liquefied natural gas from its proposed Lafourche Parish export terminal. The memorandum of understanding calls for up to 25 million metric tons of LNG annually, equal to the planned production capacity of Argent's facility at Port Fourchon.

The project will use prefabricated modular units to reduce construction time and is expected to begin as early as 2026. Construction on Phase 1 of the $20-billion export facility is expected to start in 2026, with first production anticipated by early 2030.

Argent has already secured supply agreements with Turkey and Bangladesh to serve European and Asian markets. Naftogaz will function as a regional intermediary, routing Louisiana LNG shipped to European import terminals on to Ukraine's vast underground storage network for distribution to democratic allies in the region.
