Argent LNG Secures Ukraine Deal for Lafourche Parish Export Project
Argent LNG has signed an agreement to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine's state-owned Naftogaz Group as part of a major export project in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. The proposed terminal plans to distribute up to 25 million metric tons of LNG annually.
The company has also secured agreements with Turkey and Bangladesh to supply European and Asian markets. The agreement with Naftogaz will allow the company to explore distributing LNG to Central and Eastern Europe through Ukraine's vast underground storage network.
Argent LNG plans to use prefabricated modular units to reduce construction time, which is estimated to cut construction times by 30%. Construction on Phase 1 of the $20-billion export facility is expected to begin as early as 2026 with first production anticipated by early 2030.
