Argent LNG Secures Ukrainian Supply Agreement Ahead of Louisiana Export Terminal Construction
Louisiana-based Argent LNG has secured a significant agreement to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine's state-owned Naftogaz Group. The deal, signed recently, is part of Argent's efforts to diversify its customer base before the construction of its proposed Lafourche Parish export terminal begins in 2026.
The memorandum of understanding calls for Argent and Naftogaz to explore distributing up to 25 million metric tons of LNG annually. This figure is equal to the planned production capacity of Argent's proposed facility at Port Fourchon, according to Reuters.
Argent has also secured supply agreements with Turkey and Bangladesh to serve European and Asian markets. The company plans to use prefabricated modular units to reduce construction time, which it estimates will be cut by 30% compared to traditional methods.
