Argentina Resumes Grain Exports After Maritime Pilots Strike Ends

Argentina's grain exports have resumed after a 24-hour disruption caused by a maritime pilots' strike. The strike was sparked by a government deregulation decree affecting the sector, and it ended with an agreement between the government and industry representatives.

The deal includes suspending the measure temporarily, reducing tariffs related to the sector, and continuing talks with stakeholders. This should ease congestion at Argentina's ports, where at least 45 vessels were affected during the strike.

Argentina is a major player in global grain exports, particularly for soybean oil and meal, corn, and wheat. The resumption of port operations is expected to normalize shipments of grains and oilseeds to international markets.
