Argentina Sets New Record for Corn Production with Historic Harvest
The Argentine Ministry of Economy's Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has reported a historic record in corn production for the 2025/26 season. The country's corn harvest reached an unprecedented 71,500,000 tons, with harvesting already exceeding 75% of the estimated area.
This remarkable achievement can be attributed to a significant increase in planted area, which rose from 9,200,000 hectares to 11,600,000 hectares - a 26.1% increase compared to the previous season. Additionally, average yields increased from 6,900 kg/ha to 7,240 kg/ha nationwide.
The Secretariat's data suggests that these improvements have contributed substantially to the record harvest, making Argentina's corn production one of its most successful seasons on record.
