Argentina's $51 Billion LNG Project Seeks Approval
Argentina's energy sector is poised for significant growth as YPF-led consortium submits $51 billion LNG project to Argentina's Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI) for approval.
The massive project, which spans natural gas production in Neuquén, pipelines, and floating liquefaction units in the Gulf of San Matías, aims to monetize Vaca Muerta shale gas resources by exporting large-scale LNG. According to YPF Chairman and CEO Horacio Marín, this will 'open a new chapter for Argentina as a global energy exporter.'
The project is expected to generate approximately $10 billion annually in export revenue over two decades and create around 20,000 direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase.
