Argentina's Mining Production Index Sees 3.7% Year-Over-Year Increase in July
Argentina's mining production index has seen a significant increase in July 2026. According to the latest report from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), the index rose by 3.7% compared to the same month in the previous year.
The seasonally adjusted index, however, fell by 0.9% on a monthly basis, while the trend-cycle index declined by 0.1%. The report also highlighted that crude oil extraction surged by 12.7% year-on-year in July, whereas natural gas extraction fell by 1.5%
Support services for oil and natural gas extraction dropped by 16.6%, while metalliferous minerals extraction decreased by 12.4% year-over-year, with gold and silver doré down by 20.7%. On the other hand, non-metallic minerals and quarry stones rose by 19.7%, driven by lithium, frac sand, clinker, and granite among others.
