Argentine Corn Exports Surge on High Global Prices

Argentina's corn exports have surged significantly in August, driven by a large crop and rising global prices. Market estimates suggest that the country shipped around 6.56 million tons of corn in August, more than double the 3.22 million tons exported in July. The strong production has supported the surge in exports, with Argentina having already harvested 81% of its corn area and projecting total production at 64 million tons.

The high global prices are also contributing to the increased exports, with domestic prices rising by around $20 per ton over the past month to about $200 per ton. International corn prices have climbed to their highest level in 20 months, making it an attractive time for Argentine farmers to sell their crops.
