Arizona Gas Prices Soar Amid Rising Oil Costs
Gas prices in Arizona have hit another high, with the state average reaching $4.34 per gallon, according to a release from AAA Arizona on Thursday.
Rising crude oil prices are behind the spike at the pump, said Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group.
Volatility along the Strait of Hormuz and instability in the region have pushed oil prices into the $90 per barrel range, which could continue driving up costs during the second half of the summer.
The price increase has been significant, with gas prices rising 18 cents a gallon from the previous week, and a whopping 25 cents this week alone.
