According to AAA Arizona, this spike is largely due to rising crude oil prices, which have been pushed up by volatility along the Strait of Hormuz and instability in the region.

Rising crude oil prices have driven up costs at the pump, with oil prices reaching the $90 per barrel range. This trend may continue throughout the summer, as Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group, notes.
